China has become the world's largest producer of antipyretic and analgesic drugs, with the output of aspirin, paracetamol, anergine and other varieties exceeding 10,000 tons, and the output of phenacetin, aminopyrine, antipyrine and other varieties exceeding 1,000 tons. At present, the output of antipyretic and analgesic drugs in China is growing rapidly, and it is expected to grow at a rate of about 8% in the future. The production of intermediates for antipyretic and analgesic drugs is large and there are many production enterprises. With the increase of antipyretic and analgesic drugs, their intermediates have also gained considerable development.
In 2003, domestic paracetamol consumption increased rapidly, and exports also showed a rapid growth momentum, with exports of 28163 tons, and annual exports increased by about 1 times. In the first half of 2004, although the export growth rate slowed down, it still increased, and the export volume of paracetamol from January to May 2004 was 12,501 tons, slightly higher than the same period last year. Para-aminophenol is an important intermediate in the synthesis of paracetamol and has been growing rapidly. China's annual production of 32,000 tons of aminophenol is expected to 2005, the domestic paracetamol production will reach more than 50,000 tons, the pharmaceutical industry will consume 45,000 tons of aminophenol, coupled with applications in other fields, the total demand for aminophenol in 2005 is about 50,000 tons, the market gap is large, the development and utilization prospects are broad.
