Ethyl diethoxyacetate CAS 6065-82-3 reacts with electrophiles: The lithium derivative of ethyl diethoxyacetate is a nucleophile [1-5] that is very useful in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. A similar conjugate addition can occur with phenylvinyl sulfoxide. However, the reaction with α, β-ketene mainly produces 1, 2-addition products. The reaction with saturated ketones also results in the expected 1, 2-addition product.
