1. Formic acid CAS 64-18-6 is one of the basic organic chemical raw materials, widely used in pesticide, leather and pharmaceutical industries.
2. Formic acid is used to make chemicals, rubber coagulants, textiles, printing and dyeing, electroplating, etc.

Formic acid CAS 64-18-6 and its aqueous solution can dissolve many metals, metal oxides, hydroxides and salts, and the formate generated can be dissolved in water, so it can be used as a chemical cleaning agent. Formic acid does not contain chloride ions and can be used for cleaning equipment containing stainless steel materials.

Chemical & Physical Properties:
Colorless smoky flammable liquid with a strong pungent odor. Melting point 8.4℃. Boiling point 100.7℃, 50℃ (16kPa). The relative density is 1.220 (20/4℃). Refractive index 1.3714. Flash point (open cup) 69℃, spontaneous combustion point 601℃, surface tension 37.58mN/m (20℃), viscosity 1.784mPa·s (20℃), critical temperature 308℃, critical pressure 7.04MPa. Can be miscible with water, ethanol, ether, glycerol, slightly soluble in benzene. It is strongly acidic and a strong reducing agent. At temperatures above 160 ° C it decomposes into carbon dioxide and hydrogen. Heat with concentrated sulfuric acid breaks down carbon monoxide.
Storage
Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat. The temperature of the storage is not more than 32℃, and the relative humidity is not more than 80%. Keep the container sealed.
